Company History

President Linda Holden established Linda Construction Company in 1983 with the distinction of being the only woman to have been awarded a North Carolina general contractor’s license. She began her construction focused career as an Executive Director for a home builders association and earned a degree in psychology and economics. Open to new career opportunities to support two children, Linda maximized her executive director experience by keenly observing the needs of architects, subcontractors, construction planning modes and budget planning as well as to the working relationships of construction clients.

Initially, Linda Construction Company promoted painting, framing and drywall services. With a dynamic personality and keen awareness of business trends, she set her sights for expansion by working with general contractors doing construction and demolition work for the government. This experience led her to another strategic move to focus on demolition, making her company one of the largest and most reliable and respected demolition companies in the Charlotte area. Today, Linda presides over a vast, multi-million dollar construction enterprise where her employees and her clients enjoy long-term relationships based on collaboration, trust and mutual respect.

She is a charter member of the Charlotte Women Presidents’ Organization and is certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council as well as by the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise for Charlotte-Douglas Airport. Linda also holds a Board of Directors position with the Charlotte North End Partners which strives to bring continuous improvements to Charlotte’s business hubs. As a determined and adroit business woman, Linda continues to keep abreast of best practices and remains proud of her company’s many awards and affiliations.
